My first pregnancy blood test list includes CBC and I dont know what all it checks. I am scared seeing so many tests written together. Is this a routine thing for everyone?
It's just routine to track your blood count and iron, dont skip it. I did mine fasting in the morning so I could rush to office after. Takes 5 min, results next day.
It's a basic blood test to see if your iron levels are okay and to catch anemia early. Low hb is normal in pregnancy so they keep an eye. Nothing to worry, very routine.
I got scared too when they kept asking for blood tests. But gynac said CBC is just to check hemoglobin and overall blood health. Did anyone else feel anxious over routine tests? felt normal later.
My doctor explained CBC mainly checks your hemoglobin and if you are anemic, which is super common in pregnancy. It also shows infection or platelet issues. That's why they repeat it few times.
