Doc has asked me to get a colour doppler done this week and honestly im a little confused why. Is it a routine thing or do they only suggest it when something is off? thoda tension ho raha hai.
Its a routine scan in many pregnancies, especially third trimester. It just looks at how well blood is flowing to the baby. Dont worry, its non invasive and over quickly.
My doctor said the colour doppler checks the blood flow in the placenta and umbilical cord to make sure baby is getting enough nutrition. They usually do it in the later months or if growth needs watching. Its painless, just like a normal scan.
I read up on this when mine was scheduled. Its basically a detailed ultrasound that uses colour to show blood flow direction and speed. Helped my doctor confirm baby was growing well, gave me a lot of reassurance.
