Honestly the constipation is so annoying, never struggled like this before getting pregnant. Just want to understand why it happens so much now. Anyone else dealing with the same?
Beta this is so common. Have warm water in the morning, papaya (ripe one), and lots of fibre veggies. My daughter used to soak some kishmish overnight. But if it's very stuck for days, do mention to your doctor.
Simple cheap fix worked for me, warm water first thing in morning, more fibre in food, and a daily walk. No need for fancy stuff. Iron pills are the real reason though, very normal.
It's mainly the hormones and those iron supplements. I added more fruits, soaked raisins n drank tons of water. Walking daily also really helps the digestion move. Both times this worked for me.
The iron tablets are usually the culprit, mine did the same. I started having more water, fruits and a bit of curd, slowly it got better. If it troubles you a lot ask doc to maybe change the iron brand.
Doc told me the hormones slow down the gut, and the iron tablets also make it worse. Plus the uterus presses on intestines later. So it's kind of expected. Lots of water and fibre is what she suggested.
