I had bad knee pain before and used to take this often. Now that im expecting my doc told me not to take it but didnt really explain why. Just wanted to understand the reason behind it. anyone knows?
I would never take any painkiller in pregnancy without checking. Diclofenac specially is on the avoid list. If you have pain that needs medicine, please call your gynac and let them choose what is safe for you.
When I had body pain my doctor specifically said no to diclofenac and gave me a different safe option. She explained NSAIDs can cause issues with the baby's circulation in the womb. So it is best avoided unless a doctor decides otherwise.
Diclofenac is a painkiller from the NSAID group and those are generally avoided in pregnancy, especially later, because they can affect the baby's heart and kidneys. That is why doctors usually give a safer alternative. Please never take it on your own, only what your gynac prescribes.
