Why did my belly button turn black during pregnancy?
Im in my 6th month and noticed my belly button area has gone darker, almost blackish. Nobody told me this would happen so it caught me off guard. Is this a normal pregnancy thing? Did it happen to u too?
I read about this on my pregnancy app, it's called hyperpigmentation from hormones. The belly button, nipples, that dark belly line all darken. Super normal and mostly temporary.
Don't worry, the skin darkening here and there is very common in pregnancy. My mom said the same happened to her. It's hormones, and it lightened up over a few months for me.
It's the hormones, same thing that gives u that dark line on the tummy. Happened in both my pregnancies. Nothing to worry, it usually lightens after baby comes.

Mine did the same and I felt a bit weird about it honestly. Turned out it's just the pregnancy hormones causing dark patches, totally normal. It faded slowly after delivery for me.
