Last month I had positive test and then bleeding started after few days. Doctor mentioned chemical pregnancy and I am still sad and confused. Why does this happen, and did anyone conceive after it?
I went through one and it was heartbreaking even though it was very early. Doctors told me its usually because of a chromosomal issue in that embryo, basically nature stopping a pregnancy that wasnt developing right. It is almost never anything you did wrong.
My gynac explained a chemical pregnancy is a very early loss soon after a positive test, mostly due to genetic abnormalities in the embryo so it cant continue. She said its more common than people realise and usually doesnt affect future chances.
It mostly happens because that particular pregnancy wasnt developing properly from the start, often a genetic reason. It does not mean you cant have a healthy pregnancy next time. Give yourself time and talk to ur doctor when you feel ready.
We faced this in our IVF journey too. Our doctor said most early losses like this come down to the embryo not being chromosomally viable, it is nature's way and rarely points to a problem with you. Take care of your heart, and lean on ur doctor for guidance.
I totally understand how confusing and painful this is. The main reason is usually that the embryo had a genetic issue and couldnt grow, the body recognises it early. Please be gentle with yourself, it is not your fault at all.
