Im around 5 weeks and keep getting these mild cramps like period pain on and off. No bleeding or anything but it makes me nervous every time. I'll ask my gynac at my first scan but till then, did you all feel cramps this early too? Is it normal?
My gynac told me early cramps come from the uterus growing, ligaments stretching and hormonal changes, and a little is expected. She said to worry only if its intense, persistent or with bleeding. Mild cramps with no other symptom were normal in my case.
I felt these mild cramps early on and got so scared thinking something was wrong. My doctor said its often the uterus stretching and growing, totally normal in early weeks. The relief I felt after she said that! But I did get it checked just to be calm.
Light cramping early is usually just your uterus expanding and implantation, happened to me both pregnancies. As long as its mild and not with heavy bleeding its generally okay. But sharp one sided pain or heavy bleeding, dont wait, call ur gynac.
Those little pulls and cramps in the early days are usually your body making room for the baby, dear. Rest, stay hydrated and dont panic over mild ones. Just keep your doctor posted and flag anything sharp or heavy.
Mild cramps are common but I'd gently say keep an eye on it. With me a strong cramp turned out to need attention, so if its severe, one sided, or comes with bleeding or dizziness, please contact your doctor immediately. Better safe.
