This might sound like a basic question but i genuinely never understood it. The moment i got pregnant my periods stopped completely and i was just curious what actually happens in the body for this. Anyone who knows, pls explain simply.
Simply put, the body holds onto the lining to nourish the baby, so there's no period. That missed period was my first clue both times. It comes back later once your hormones return to normal.
I always wondered about the science behind this, thanks for explaining. So it's the hormones holding the lining, makes sense now. First pregnancy means a hundred little questions like this.
My gynac explained that once you conceive, the hormones keep the uterine lining in place to support the baby instead of shedding it, so periods pause. That's why a missed period is an early sign. It naturally restarts after delivery, sometimes after breastfeeding settles.
