I've noticed my nipples are getting darker, and I'm pregnant. Why do nipples get dark during pregnancy? Is this a normal change that everyone experiences?
It is purely hormonal, caused by increased melanin production. Don't waste money on whitening creams, they won't work and can be unsafe. It's nature's way of helping the baby latch, and it will fade after you stop breastfeeding.
Ah, yet another glamorous pregnancy symptom! It's just estrogen and progesterone making them darker, apparently to guide the baby to the milk source. At 35 weeks, I have accepted my new look, haha!
Mine became so dark and huge in the first trimester itself! Is this normal? Does it happen to everyone, and does the color actually go back to normal after delivery?
It's completely natural due to pregnancy hormones. I noticed this early on, but I just focused on my daily walks and prenatal yoga as advised by my doctor to keep my overall health in check and not worry about body changes.
It's totally normal and due to increased melanin from hormones. After my C-section, my doctor told me it also helps the newborn find the breast easily for feeding. They do lighten up gradually postpartum.
