Im in my second trimester and noticed the colour around my nipples has gone quite dark. Nobody told me this would happen so i got bit worried first. Is it normal and does it go back to normal after delivery?
My gynac explained its from increased melanin due to pregnancy hormones, same reason some women get a dark line on the belly. She said its expected and harmless. It lightens slowly after delivery.
Its the hormones darkening that area, totally normal love. Mine got quite dark and i later realised it helps the baby latch and find the spot. It fades a lot after you finish feeding.
I genuinely panicked when i first saw it and thought something was wrong, but it was completely normal. Mere saath bhi hua and it faded later. Dont worry about it at all.
