Im in my 7th month and by evening my feet and legs look so puffy, my chappals dont even fit properly. Saas says its normal but i just want to understand why this actually happens. Is it the same for everyone na?
Because of my PCOS, my body was already prone to bloating, and pregnancy swelling made it worse. Try to avoid sitting with folded legs and reduce salt intake slightly, but always let your gynac know. They will tell you if it's normal or needs attention.
Oh dear, leg swelling used to scare me so much because I kept googling all sorts of bad things. It is usually just water retention because of the extra blood in the body, but please check your BP regularly. If the swelling is sudden or in just one leg, call your doctor immediately okay?
Mostly it's the extra fluid and pressure of the baby bump. I used to do mild prenatal yoga and daily 20-minute walks which kept my circulation going, but only after my doctor gave the green light. Definitely check with your gynac before starting any physical activity.
My legs became like elephant pillars especially after my C-section, it was so weird! Walking slowly and keeping them elevated on cushions helped me recover. Just monitor your blood pressure and keep your gynac in loop.
Having gone through a loss before, I know how terrifying any bodily change can feel. Swelling is quite common as the uterus grows and puts pressure on your veins, but please don't take any chances. Get your urine test and BP checked by your doctor to be absolutely safe.
