My feet and ankles have started swelling up specially by evening, third trimester chal raha hai. Its a bit uncomfortable and i keep wondering why this happens. Is it normal or something to watch out for? anyone else dealing with this?
Don't get worried, mild swelling in the feet and ankles is very common as your pregnancy progresses. Just try not to stand for long intervals and give your feet some rest.
Drinking barley water (jau ka pani) helped me a lot with swelling during my third trimester. But please remember, if the swelling comes on very suddenly or feels extremely painful, consult your doctor immediately.
It’s a very natural part of the journey because of all the hormonal changes and extra pressure on your veins. I used to soak my feet in warm water with rock salt and it gave me instant relief. Keep drinking lots of water to flush out fluids!
A bit of swelling is super common due to water retention and increased blood flow. I found that doing doctor-approved gentle walks and ankle rotations really helped keep the swelling down. Just don't sit with your legs hanging for too long.
Pregnancy swelling, or edema, is normal because your body is producing extra fluid for the baby. However, if you notice sudden swelling in your face or hands, or if it's accompanied by a headache, please check with your gynac immediately to rule out high BP.
Oh, I remember my feet looking like little balloons by the end of my pregnancy, it was so hard to wear any shoes! It's just your body holding onto extra water to support your little one. Keep your feet elevated on a pillow when resting, it helps so much.
