Last month i got a faint positive and then period came few days later, doc said it was a chemical pregnancy. Im still heartbroken honestly. Trying to understand why this happens, was it something i did?
It mostly happens due to genetic issues in the embryo, the pregnancy stops very early on its own. Its common and usually not preventable. Most women go on to have healthy pregnancies after, so dont lose hope.
Sending you a hug if you're going through this. Usually it happens because the embryo had chromosomal problems and couldnt grow further, its nature's way and not something you caused. It still deserves to be grieved though. Talk to your gynac when you feel ready.
These early losses are almost always because the embryo wasnt forming correctly, and that is beyond anyone's control. Its not a punishment or a mistake on your part. Be kind to yourself and lean on your doctor for any worries.
My doctor explained that a chemical pregnancy is a very early loss, usually due to chromosomal issues in the embryo, meaning it just wasnt developing right from the start. She said its very common and usually not because of anything you did wrong. The body simply doesnt continue when something isnt right early on.
I went through one during our IVF journey and it really hurt, even though it was so early. Most of the time its a random genetic thing with that particular embryo, not your fault at all. Please be gentle with yourself, and your doctor can guide you on next steps.
