Lately i feel my heart beating faster even when im just sitting, im around 5 months. It scares me a little sometimes. Is this just a pregnancy thing or something to check?
Its your body working harder for two now, so a faster heartbeat is expected. Try not to panic when you feel it. Just mention it at your checkup and rest when it flutters.
Totally normal, the heart does extra work in pregnancy. Sit, sip water and breathe slow when you feel it. But sudden strong palpitations with discomfort, get that checked by your doctor.
My heart felt like it was racing sometimes and I got scared. Did others feel their heart beat faster too? My gynac said its normal but I still notice it.
I had thyroid in pregnancy and my heart rate ran a little high, so they kept an eye on it. With proper follow up it stayed fine. If you have any thyroid history, do mention it and keep your check ups regular.
My doctor explained that your blood volume increases a lot in pregnancy, so the heart pumps faster to supply the baby. A slightly higher resting heart rate is normal. But if you feel chest pain, breathlessness or dizziness, she said call immediately.
