Got my reports and my ESR is coming high, thoda tension ho gaya. Doc said its common in pregnancy but didnt explain much. Why does it go up? Anyone else had this?
Don't panic at all! High ESR is very common in pregnancy because your blood volume increases. It's just a normal bodily change, so stay happy and positive!
An elevated ESR is actually a physiological response to pregnancy due to increased fibrinogen levels. However, since it can sometimes indicate inflammation, it's best to have your doctor evaluate it alongside other reports.
With my PCOS, I was always checking every report closely. High ESR is typically normal during pregnancy due to increased plasma, but always let your doctor review it to be absolutely sure.
When my reports came back with high ESR, I got so scared. But my father, who is very calm, reminded me that our bodies change completely to support the baby. My doctor confirmed it is very normal.
My ESR was also high during my second trimester. My gynac explained that it naturally rises because of the changes in our blood proteins during pregnancy, so it is usually nothing to worry about.
I saw my high ESR report and almost cried thinking something was wrong. Turns out, pregnancy naturally increases it and my doctor laughed it off, so please dont lose sleep over it!
