I sleep properly but still feel tired like I did some full day work. Even simple cooking makes me sit down in between. Is this pregnancy tiredness normal or should I get something checked?
Its the body adjusting, very normal. My mother just told me to rest and not fight the sleep. I ate on time and slept whenever I could. Be kind to yourself, this phase passes.
My gynac explained progesterone shoots up early on and that makes you super sleepy, plus your body is building the placenta which takes a lot of energy. She also checked my iron because low hemoglobin makes fatigue worse. Worth getting that tested if its extreme.
Totally normal, the body is doing so much. But if you feel unusually weak or dizzy along with it, get your iron and thyroid checked, mine were low and fixing them helped my energy. Listen to your body, rest when it asks.
Working through first trimester fatigue was tough na. I started taking short power naps at lunch and sleeping earlier. Eat small frequent meals, big gaps made me more drained. It does get better in second trimester usually.
Oh the tiredness in my first trimester was unreal, I felt like I could sleep all day. I felt lazy and guilty but doc said its the hormones and the body working so hard to grow baby. It really is exhausting, you are not alone.
