I feel like im drinking water all the time but my throat still feels dry, specially in the afternoons. Second trimester now. Is this normal or am i not drinking enough properly?
Your body needs more fluids in pregnancy because blood volume increases and the baby needs it too. So extra thirst is normal, just keep sipping water. Carry a bottle everywhere, it helped me.
My doctor said increased blood volume and the body's higher fluid needs cause more thirst, which is normal. But she warned if its excessive thirst with lots of urination, mention it as they check for sugar. So worth telling your gynac if it feels extreme.
Just a gentle note, very excessive thirst was one thing my doctor watched in me for sugar levels. Mild extra thirst is normal, but if its a lot please mention it at your check up. Mine turned out to be GD so worth flagging.
