My gynac started me on folic acid even before i actually conceived and now im taking it daily. I take it without questioning but honestly i dont fully understand what it does for the baby. Can someone explain in simple words?
Its for the baby's early development, especially the spine and brain. Doctors prescribe it from the start because that part forms in the first few weeks. Just take what your gynac gives, dont skip it.
I read you should ideally start folic acid even before you conceive, since it helps prevent certain birth defects in the early weeks. Thats why my doctor put me on it the moment we started trying.
It supports the baby's early growth, especially the spinal cord, dear. My doctor was very particular I take it daily from the beginning. Such a small tablet but really important, dont miss it.
My gynac explained folic acid is mainly to protect the baby's brain and spine development, the neural tube forms super early. Thats why they tell you to start it even before conception if you can. I took it daily without fail.
