Got my beta hcg done twice and the number went up a lot. Doc said its good but i didnt fully understand why it keeps rising. Just curious to know what it actually means.
HCG is just nature's way of keeping the pregnancy secure in those early months. Try not to stress about the exact numbers as long as your scans are going well.
It's the hormone that supports your pregnancy and tells your body to stop periods. Don't waste time checking blood levels daily unless your doctor specifically asked you to.
Since I had PCOS, I was always tracking my HCG levels with a lot of anxiety. It increases to support the baby's growth, but always let your doctor interpret the numbers.
HCG is made by the placenta after implantation, and it doubles every 48 hours to help the baby grow. It is also what makes the home pregnancy test positive!
My doctor told me HCG rises rapidly in the first trimester to nourish the pregnancy. It's also the main culprit behind our morning sickness, but it gets better!
