My BP was a little high at the clinic today and now I am tensed. I was also anxious while they checked it, so not sure if that affected the reading. Has anyone had high reading once and then normal later?
Stress and lack of rest can push it up too, I was working full time and mine kept rising. Doc told me to cut salt, rest more and check BP regularly at home. Take it seriously and follow up properly.
Several things can cause it during pregnancy and the body is under more load. Dont panic but dont take it lightly either. Reduce salt, rest, and keep your doctor updated with regular checks, they will guide you well.
Pregnancy causes a lot of changes in blood volume and hormones which can raise BP in some women. My doctor said its more common in first pregnancy, with family history or if overweight. They watch it because high BP needs proper management, it isnt something to ignore.
Please take high BP seriously. I had it and it was the early sign of preeclampsia, they had to monitor me closely. If your BP is high, or you get headache, swelling, blurred vision, see your doctor right away, dont delay even one day.
There can be several reasons, hormonal changes, weight, stress, sometimes a condition called gestational hypertension. The important thing is regular monitoring. Keep your appointments and let the gynac guide you, BP is one thing they really keep an eye on.
