I've noticed my hips seem to be getting wider as my pregnancy progresses. I was curious to know why hips tend to increase in size during pregnancy? Is it a normal change for everyone?
Listen, this is completely normal and happens in every pregnancy to make room for birth. Your pelvis is expanding, simple as that. Don't waste time worrying about size right now, focus on healthy eating instead.
Relax, it's just relaxin doing its job. That hormone literally loosens your ligaments so the baby can pass through the pelvis. Totally natural process, just embrace the curves!
It's mostly the pelvic bones expanding, which is totally normal. But if you have severe pelvic pain or can't walk properly, please consult your gynac. I had some pelvic girdle issues during my term so it's always better to be safe.
My gynac actually explained this to me during my checkup. She said the body releases a hormone called relaxin which softens the ligaments in the pelvis area. It's necessary so the baby can come out easily, nothing to worry about.
Please dont stress about the physical changes dear, your body is doing such a beautiful job preparing a home for your baby. My doctor told me the hip bones naturally widen to make delivery easier. Take care of yourself, this phase is precious.
Mere saath bhi exact same thing happened, my hips got quite wide during the third trimester. Even though I ended up having a C-section, the body still preps for normal birth. Don't worry, post delivery with a bit of walking and time it slowly feels normal again.
Honestly even I was reading about this lately because we are planning soon. Apparently our bones shift thoda because of some hormone to make room for delivery, super fascinating na? Hopefully my old jeans still fit post baby, haha.
