Why iron and calcium supplements during pregnancy?
My doc gave me iron and calcium both and told me to take them at different times. I take them but dont really understand why both are so important. Anyone knows the reason?
At my hospital, the gynac and even the nutritionists explained everything so clearly. They said that even with a perfect diet, it's very difficult to meet the increased demands for iron and calcium during pregnancy. Always ask your doctor or the hospital staff to explain why each supplement is prescribed. They are usually very helpful.
For me, staying active with doctor-approved walks and prenatal yoga was important, but even then, my doctor insisted on supplements. She said your body's needs for iron and calcium increase a lot to support the baby's growth and blood supply. They're like non-negotiables for a healthy pregnancy, so take them as prescribed, along with your healthy lifestyle.
You know, when you're pregnant, it feels like everything is about the baby, but these supplements are also so much for *you*. Your body is going through such an incredible change, creating life. Iron prevents you from feeling drained and calcium keeps your bones strong, which you'll need after delivery too. Be kind to your body.
Haan ji, ye toh bahut zaroori hota hai pregnancy mein. Mere gynac ne bola tha ki baby ko sab nutrients chahiye hote hain aur woh hamare body se hi leta hai. Toh agar hum supplement nahi lenge toh hamari body mein kami ho jaayegi. Na toh aapko weakness aayegi na baby ko koi dikkat hogi, bas regular lena hota hai.
Oh god, I remember how much I freaked out when my doctor first prescribed so many pills! I was like, is something wrong? But honestly, it's completely normal. Your body is doing double duty, so it needs that extra support. Don't worry, it's just to make sure both you and baby are super healthy.
These supplements are really important for your baby's growth and your own health. It's hard to get enough from just food sometimes. Just try to take them regularly, it makes a big difference in the long run. You're doing great by taking care of yourself.
From my experience, my doctor told me these supplements are essential because the baby takes a lot from your body. I used to feel quite tired, and when I started taking them regularly, I felt much better. It's just to keep your energy levels up and ensure the baby gets what it needs.
Beta, during pregnancy, your body needs extra strength, you know. Iron is for your blood, so you don't feel weak, and calcium is for strong bones, for you and the baby too. My mother always said to eat lots of green leafy veggies and drink milk, but these days, supplements also help a lot. Just make sure you take them regularly as your doctor says.
