Why iron is not given in first trimester of pregnancy?
My friend said her iron started later, not in first trimester, and now I am wondering why. I am newly pregnant and trying to understand the supplement schedule. Did your gynac explain this?
Dekho, first trimester mein bahut logo ko vomiting ka issue hota hai. Iron pills can sometimes increase nausea and discomfort, making it difficult to keep anything down. Isliye usually gynacs wait till the second trimester jab body thodi settle ho jaati hai. Don't overthink it, just follow what your doctor says, they know best for your health.
Oh, this is something I remember asking my doc too during my first pregnancy. From what I understood, early on, your stomach is really sensitive, and iron supplements can sometimes cause more nausea or even constipation. They often wait till you're past that initial phase to ensure you're comfortable and can absorb it better without extra discomfort. It's a common practice.
Yaar, actually, most doctors don't give iron in the first trimester only. Mere saath bhi same hua tha. Coz na, already so much nausea hota hai, aur iron pills can make it worse, like seriously. So, they wait till you're past that initial phase, maybe around 12-14 weeks. Don't stress, it's pretty normal, just keep up with your diet.
Arre beti, isme tension na lo. Pehle teen mahine mein kai baar ulti hoti hai na, aur iron ki goli khaane se pet thoda aur gadbad ho sakta hai. Isliye doctor log thoda ruk ke dete hain. Jab theek lagega, tab denge woh. Bas apna khaan paan achha rakho ghar pe, sab theek hoga.
Hey, it's a very common question, don't worry. Usually, in the first trimester, many women experience a lot of nausea and vomiting, and iron supplements can sometimes make that worse. Your gynac probably wants to make sure you're comfortable. They will definitely start it when your body is more settled in the second trimester, just trust your doctor.
