Why is metronidazole contraindicated in pregnancy?
Doc mentioned this medicine n said its not given in early pregnancy, i just wanted to understand the reason behind it. Im 9 weeks. Not taking anything on my own, just curious why.
Actually yaar, metronidazole is an antibiotic and doctors are super careful about it, especially in the first trimester. Don't take any such medicines on your own, please. Actually, directly call your gynac and let them prescribe what's safe.
I know how irritating infections can be along with morning sickness, but please stay away from metronidazole without a prescription. Some medicines can harm the baby early on. Just message your gynac and they will suggest a safer pregnancy-friendly option.
Haan na, medicine ka mamla toh bahut risky hota hai pregnancy mein. Some antibiotics are not safe in the initial months, ho na? Please apne doctor se consult karo, wahi sahi dose aur safe medicine bataenge.
It's mostly avoided in early pregnancy unless absolutely necessary because of potential risks to the developing baby. Please do not self-medicate under any circumstances. Just have a quick chat with your doctor, they will give you a safer alternative.
During my pregnancy, my parents strictly told me never to take even a basic pill without consulting my gynac first. Metronidazole has certain warnings in pregnancy, so it is best to avoid it. Please check with your doctor for any infection treatments.
