I get this strong craving for cold drink and soda especially after meals. My sister keeps stopping me saying its not good for the baby. Just want to know whats actually the reason behind it?
Honestly the sugar in soda is the big issue, it spikes blood sugar fast which matters a lot if you risk gestational diabetes. I cut it out completely. Plain water or lemon water served me better.
Soda has a lot of sugar and caffeine and basically no nutrition, which isnt great in pregnancy. An occasional sip wont ruin anything but daily is best avoided. Coconut water or nimbu pani are much better choices, ask your doctor if unsure.
