everyone around me is suggesting prenatal yoga but i've never done it in my life. im 14 weeks now and curious what it actually does for us. those who do it, did it help with anything?
I just started doing mild prenatal yoga in my second trimester to help with my stiff hips. I feel a bit anxious about stretching too much though, did anyone else also feel scared of hurting the baby initially? It does help me feel more relaxed after doing it.
Haha, honestly the only reason I did yoga was to sleep for more than two hours straight! It physically tires you out in a good way so your mind can shut up. Now with a newborn, sleep is a distant dream, so do your yoga and sleep while you can!
My gynecologist explained that prenatal yoga improves blood circulation to the placenta and strengthens pelvic floor muscles, which is great for labor. But she strictly warned me not to do any deep twists or flat-on-stomach poses. Always do it under a certified trainer's guidance.
Pranayam and light stretching are very good to keep the mind and body calm during these delicate months. But beta, remember to never push your body too hard or hold your breath. Drink some warm ginger-honey water after your sessions if you feel tired, and take plenty of rest.
I really want to start yoga because my back is killing me, but I'm in my first trimester. Is it safe to start now, or should I wait until the second trimester? I'll ask my doc but wanted to know when you all started.
Beta, yoga se sharir lachila banta hai aur delivery ke samay zyada takleef nahi hoti. Humare yahan toh ghar ke halkey kaam karne ko hi yoga bolte hain, par thoda saans lene wali exercise karne se mann bohot shant rehta hai.
My MIL was quite supportive of me joining online yoga classes because she believes physical activity makes delivery smoother. She would sit with me and make sure I didn't do any difficult poses. It really helped with my posture and leg cramps.
