My legs especially the calves have been aching badly, sometimes even at night it wakes me up. Im in my second trimester and just curious why this happens now. Is it a normal pregnancy thing?
Extra weight, blood circulation changes and pressure on nerves, all of it. Both my pregnancies my legs ached a lot by evening. Keep legs up, gentle stretch and stay hydrated, it helped me.
Sitting or standing too long at work made mine worse. I started taking small walking breaks and keeping a stool under my feet at desk. Simple stuff but it really reduced the cramps.
My doc explained it's the growing weight plus the body holding more fluid, sometimes calcium too. She suggested calf stretches and not standing too long. If one leg swells a lot or is painful and hot, tell the doctor immediately though.
My saasu maa said its very common, body is carrying so much. She used to press my legs at night with warm mustard oil. Helped me sleep better honestly.
Beta in later months legs pain is normal due to weight. Warm oil malish on legs at night gives relief, my mother did it for me. But if pain is severe or one leg swollen, show doctor.
Mostly its normal pregnancy stuff, weight and circulation. But just to be safe, if you ever get sharp pain in one calf with redness or swelling, dont ignore it, call your gynac. Better safe.
