My feet and ankles have started puffing up by evening, my chappals feel tight now. Im 7 months in. I know swelling is common but wanted to understand why it happens and when i should actually be concerned about it. Anyone else dealing with this?
Some swelling is normal, but please dont ignore it if it comes on suddenly or with a bad headache or blurred vision. I had a BP issue and that swelling was a warning sign. Keep an eye on it and tell your doctor.
My gynac explained the body holds extra fluid and the growing uterus presses on the veins, so legs swell especially by evening. She told me to keep feet elevated and avoid standing too long. But she warned sudden swelling with headache or BP needs urgent checking.
My mother told me to put my feet up on a pillow at night and it really eased the swelling. We also reduced extra salty food a bit. But always let your doctor know how much it is, just to stay safe.
Very normal in later months. Elevating your legs, not sitting too long and drinking enough water actually helps reduce it. Just monitor that its gradual and even on both legs, otherwise mention to your gynac.
