Im in my second trimester and my doctor added LFT to the usual blood work this time. I dont have any symptom that i know of so getting a bit worried why suddenly liver test. Is this routine for everyone or only if something looks off?
My doctor said LFT is done to check how the liver is working, especially if you have itching or BP issues later. It helps catch problems like cholestasis early. Its just a routine safety check, nothing to panic about.
They did this test in both my pregnancies, its very normal. It just makes sure your liver enzymes are in range. If results are off your gynac will guide you, dont stress before that.
