Why my left lower abdomen is paining during pregnancy?
I'm in my second trimester, and I've been experiencing some mild pain in my left lower abdomen. It's not severe, but it worries me a bit. What could be the reason for this pain during pregnancy?
I remember getting these sharp stabs on my left side whenever I stood up quickly, and my gynac told me it was just muscle stretching to make room for the baby. But please do get it checked with your doctor just to be 100% sure. Now my toddler keeps me so busy I almost forgot how much I worried back then!
Left lower abdominal pain is often just round ligament pain because the uterus is expanding, or sometimes even simple gas. However, since abdominal pain can sometimes mean other things, you should definitely mention it to your gynac. Watch out if it's accompanied by spotting, fever, or cramping, and call your clinic.
Any kind of abdominal pain during pregnancy should not be ignored or self-diagnosed. It could be normal stretching, but please call your gynac immediately and explain the pain. It's always best to let the doctor decide if you need an ultrasound or physical checkup.
Oh dear, please don't panic but I would suggest calling your doctor right away to be safe. When I had left-side pain, I googled it and got so scared thinking the worst, though it was just round ligament stretch. It's always better to ask your gynac so you can sleep peacefully tonight without overthinking.
I know how terrifying any pain in the stomach can feel, and my heart goes out to you. Since I've had a loss before, I never take risks with abdominal pain. Please contact your doctor or visit your clinic immediately to make sure everything is absolutely fine with the baby. Sending you prayers.
