Im 7 weeks and the nausea is there pretty much all day, not just mornings like everyone said. Cant even smell food without feeling sick. Just wanna understand why this happens so much?
It's just those pregnancy hormones doing their job, beta. When I had bad nausea, my mother used to give me small pieces of ginger or dry toast before I even got out of bed. Being with family really helped me get through that difficult phase.
I know how exhausting and draining constant nausea can feel, it really takes a toll on your mental health. It's mostly because of the pregnancy hormones rising quickly. Please remember it's completely normal and you are doing great, just take it one day at a time.
Nausea is very common due to hormonal spikes, but if you are vomiting excessively and can't keep even water down, please contact your doctor immediately. I had severe dehydration during my pregnancy and had to be hospitalized, so don't ignore it if it's extreme.
I am planning to conceive soon and honestly quite scared of this morning sickness phase. Does it start right from the first month itself? It's reassuring to know that it is just hormones working to protect the pregnancy.
Nausea is mostly due to rapid hormonal changes like hCG and estrogen. Be careful what you eat to curb it; don't rely too much on sugary biscuits or juices as it can spike your sugars. Try small portions of protein instead.
