Im a back sleeper since always and now everyone says sone ka position change karo. But i find left side so uncomfortable. Why exactly back is not good, is it really that serious?
Left side is the best side! 😴 Sleeping on your back can compress blood vessels and make you feel breathless. Use a pillow behind your back and one between your knees to block you from rolling over. Stay comfy!
I just delivered last month and my doctor was very strict about this. She said sleeping on the back cuts off optimal oxygen and blood flow to the little one. Buy a nice C-shaped pregnancy pillow and sleep on your left side, it is so much safer and comfortable.
I used to wake up on my back in the middle of the night and panic so badly, thinking I had hurt my baby! But my doctor reassured me that our bodies naturally roll over and a few minutes won't cause harm. Just turn back to your side when you realize it, don't stress!
Sleeping on your back can press a major vein and reduce blood flow to your baby, which can also make you feel very dizzy and nauseous. I had terrible morning sickness and lying on my side with a pregnancy pillow was the only way I could survive and breathe easily.
Actually, from the second trimester, the weight of the growing uterus can compress the inferior vena cava. My doctor explained that this reduces blood circulation to both you and the baby, which is why left-side sleeping is highly recommended. It also helps your kidneys clear out fluids better.
