Noticed my stool looking really dark since couple days and it scared me honestly. I did start my iron tablets recently, could that be the reason? Just want to know if i should mention to my gynac.
Most likely its the iron tablets, they turn poop dark/black. Happened to me both times. But if u have stomach pain or its tarry with bad smell, tell ur doctor to be safe.
Usually iron pills do this, but black sticky stool can also mean something inside, so please dont just ignore it. A quick word with ur gynac will rule out anything serious.
Same here once i started iron supplements it went dark. I freaked out at first. As long as it matches when u started the tablets its usually that. Mention it at ur next visit anyway.
