I've noticed my skin, especially around my neck and armpits, is getting darker since I became pregnant. I'm a little conscious about it. Why does skin tend to get dark during pregnancy? Is it normal?
I was actually reading about this because my husband and I are planning a baby soon. It is amazing how our bodies change so much. Is there any safe pregnancy cream we can use for this, or is it better to leave it alone?
I totally understand how frustrating this is, I used to hate looking in the mirror. But please don't stress, it is just a temporary thing called melasma due to hormonal surges. Your skin will get back to normal after your baby comes.
Honestly, I am in my second trimester now and my neck and underarms are getting so dark. I feel so conscious about it. Has anyone else experienced this, and does it really fade away later?
Haha, tell me about it! With twins, my hormones were double, and my face looked like I had a permanent tan. It's just melanin playing games, completely normal and nothing to lose sleep over.
It is just hormonal pigmentation, very common. I just focused on my daily morning walks to stay active and drank lots of water to keep my skin hydrated. Keep doing mild yoga if your doc has allowed it, it really helps with stress.
Arre, it is completely normal, mere saath bhi hua tha. My saas told me it is because of pregnancy heat and recommended putting fresh malai and haldi, but actually it is just hormones. It mostly goes away after delivery, don't worry.
