This is my first pregnancy and i just got curious about why periods stop completely for these months. Like where does all that go? Maybe a silly question but i really wanted to understand.
My doctor explained it nicely, the hormones change so that the uterus lining stays thick to nourish the baby rather than shedding like a normal period. So periods stop till after delivery. It comes back some weeks or months postpartum.
Oh I was wondering this too. So does the period come back right after baby is born or does it take time? I keep hearing it can be delayed because of feeding.
Simple reason, the lining of your uterus is now holding and feeding the baby instead of shedding, so no period comes. Thats actually a normal sign of pregnancy, totally expected for all 9 months.
I had the same doubt early on! It felt strange to not get periods at all. Someone told me its because the body stops the monthly cycle to support the baby. Did you also feel weird about it at first?
