Gynac told me to come for the TT injection next visit. I just took it without asking but now im curious why exactly its needed. Anyone knows the reason behind it?
I was researching this recently! From what I understand, it is to protect both the mother and the newborn from tetanus infection during birth. It is a standard vaccine that almost every doctor recommends.
TT injection is super important yaar. Actually, it protects the baby from tetanus during delivery, especially if there is any exposure. Gynacs always give it in the second or third trimester.
Tetanus toxoid (TT) is given to prevent maternal and neonatal tetanus. It helps your body make antibodies that pass to the baby, protecting them for the first few months after birth. It's a vital part of prenatal care.
I remember getting my TT shot and I felt so emotional realizing it was my baby's very first shield of protection. The arm was a bit sore for a day, but knowing it keeps the baby safe from infections made it totally worth it.
