Im in my third trimester and already worried about after delivery. I see so many women struggle to lose the weight even years later. Is it really that hard to come back to normal? what's the actual reason behind it?
From what I understand its hormones, water retention, and reduced activity after delivery. Once my friends doctor cleared them, gentle walks helped them ease back. Dont start anything intense after delivery without doctor okay though, the body needs healing first.
Few reasons, the weight gained in pregnancy doesnt vanish overnight, hormones shift, and after baby comes there is zero time to eat properly or move. Both times it came off slowly once baby got a bit older and I could walk again. Dont rush it.
For me breastfeeding actually helped some weight come off slowly, but it also made me very hungry so I ate more too. Its a mix. Give your body the time it needs, it carried and is feeding a baby. The number on scale is not the priority right now.
Beta its completely natural, the body changes to grow and feed a baby and then takes its own sweet time to return. Dont compare with anyone or pressure yourself. Eat well, rest, and it settles gradually.
Honestly its mostly because there is no time for yourself after baby. Between feeds and no sleep, healthy eating goes for a toss and exercise is a joke. Realistically the weight comes off when routine settles, give it a year and dont beat yourself up.
I struggled with this and it made me feel low looking in the mirror. The body holds weight from the pregnancy, hormones change, and honestly we are too busy and sleep deprived to focus on ourselves. Be kind to yourself, your body just did something huge. It takes time.
