Im 8 weeks and the nausea is hitting me so hard, i throw up almost every morning and sometimes even from smells. Just curious why this even happens to us during pregnancy. Is there an actual reason behind it?
It's normal due to hormones, but if you're vomiting many times a day and feeling weak or dizzy, please tell your gynac. That can be a condition that needs treatment, I had to get a drip once for it.
Ufff the vomiting was the worst part for me, morning, noon, night. It's the pregnancy hormones, especially in first trimester. Small frequent meals and not staying empty stomach helped me a little. If it gets too much and you can't keep water down, call your doc.
It's the body adjusting to the hormones ma. My mother gave me a little lemon and ginger water which calmed my tummy. But if it's severe my doctor said don't manage at home, come in. So keep that in mind.
My gynac explained it's mostly the rising hCG and other hormones in early pregnancy that trigger the nausea. For most it settles after 12-14 weeks. She said keep dry biscuits by the bed and eat before getting up, that actually worked for me.
I felt sick the moment I woke up everyday in my first three months. It's the hormones changing so fast. Honestly knowing it was normal made me feel less scared. Hang in there, it usually gets better.
