Why you should count conceiving date from last mentrual period?
My gynac counted my due date from my last period and not from when we actually conceived, which felt strange to me. Like how does that even make sense when conception happened later na. Can someone explain the logic behind this?
My gynac explained it is because most women dont know the exact day of conception, but they do remember their last period. So doctors count from the first day of the last period as a reliable common starting point. The dating scan then adjusts it if needed.
Every app I used asked for the last period date for the same reason, it is the one date you reliably know. Conception timing varies a lot per person. The scan later confirms how far along you really are.
Simple reason, the exact conception day is hard to pin down but the last period date is known. That is why all the weeks and due date are counted from there. Standard method everywhere.
