My test came positive but ive been having one sided pain and im a bit worried, i keep reading scary stuff online. Im going to get it checked with my doctor this week. but does the home test even show positive in such cases? cant stop thinking about it.

Yes, an ectopic still shows positive on a test because hcg is being produced. My doctor explained the test cant tell where the pregnancy is located. That is why an early scan is so important to confirm it is in the right place.
