My areolas became much darker and bigger during pregnancy and I feel awkward looking at myself. I know body changes are normal but still wondering what happens later. Did yours change back after delivery or feeding?
I remember staring at mine wondering the same thing. Over the months postpartum they did get lighter and smaller. Our bodies do so much, try to look at the changes kindly.
Mine got darker and a bit bigger during pregnancy, and after a while post delivery they did lighten and go back closer to before, not exactly the same though. Bodies change a little and thats okay. Be gentle with yourself.
While I was nursing they stayed larger and darker, and once I stopped breastfeeding they slowly faded and got smaller again. Not 100 percent like before but close. Totally normal, no worries.
Yes they usually shrink and lighten after pregnancy and breastfeeding, though they may not be identical to before. After two kids mine settled fine. Its just hormones doing their thing.
