Just got my positive test and im roughly 4 weeks. Gynac gave me a scan date but im so impatient, want to see something already. Will the ultrasound even pick up anything this early? anyone had a scan this soon?
My doctor explained that at 4 weeks, the gestational sac is barely 2-3 mm and often not clearly visible on an abdominal scan. They usually prefer doing a transvaginal scan if it's very early, but for a clear heartbeat, 7 to 8 weeks is the best time.
I am currently 8 weeks, but at 4 weeks my doctor told me to wait. Did your doctor suggest an early scan, or are you just curious? Mostly they call you around 6-7 weeks for the heartbeat.
At 4 weeks, it's mostly just a thick uterine lining or a tiny speck. Doing a scan now might just confuse you or cause unnecessary worry. Wait till you are at least 6 weeks along so you can hear the heartbeat clearly.
Arre, do not rush for a scan at 4 weeks, nothing much will show up and you will unnecessarily get tense. Just wait for 2 more weeks. Let the baby grow a bit, then go for the first scan around 6 or 7 weeks.
Actually, even I wanted to get an ultrasound done so early because I was so anxious! But 4 weeks is too early, usually only a tiny sac is seen. Did anyone else also feel super impatient during those initial weeks?
