You can keep it at room temperature for about 1-2 hours, or in the fridge for up to 12 hours. Just make sure it comes back to room temp before you use the test kit. Fresh is always recommended, though.
Don't stress too much if you hate milk right now. You can easily eat curd or cheese instead to get your calcium, so don't force yourself!
