With twins, I had to do this test twice, and let me tell you, that glucose drink is not a treat! Make sure you check with your clinic if you need to fast. Bring a book or download some shows because you will be sitting there for hours waiting for blood draws.
During my pregnancy and even now while breastfeeding, I avoid these drinks. They have too much processed sugar and preservatives which aren't good for the baby. Stick to natural homemade drinks for safety.
Agreeing with the morning urine tip. A simple home test kit is very accurate if you test a few days after missing your period.
If you want to test at home, definitely use the very first urine in the morning for the most accurate result. In the meantime, drink lots of warm water and avoid heavy food if you are feeling a bit nauseous. But if you have any severe cramping or spotting, skip the home tests and go see a doctor immediately.
Look, forget trying to convert weeks into months because calendar months are not exactly 4 weeks. Doctors always talk in terms of weeks for medical accuracy, so just track your pregnancy by weeks starting from your last period date. It's much more straightforward.
