I literally just delivered my baby boy last month and went through this! My test was negative on day of missed period, but showed positive after a full week. Your body might just be slow in making the hormone initially, so don't worry too much.
I had high BP in my third trimester too, but with my doctor's regular tracking and some medicine, everything went fine. Just cut down on processed foods and rest as much as possible.
