It is perfectly safe in a normal pregnancy. The baby is well protected by the amniotic sac and cervix plug. Just avoid any positions that put pressure on your belly, especially as you get bigger.

Actually unripe or semi-ripe papaya has latex which can cause contractions, so definitely avoid that. But when I had severe morning sickness, even the smell of ripe papaya made me throw up. Better to stick to simple safe fruits like apples or bananas for now.
I can only share what worked for me personally. I used to track my ovulation using simple test strips from the chemist, and we tried on those peak days. It made the whole process much easier for us without guessing.
