Account & Data Deletion
Effective Date: 1st April 2025
You can request permanent deletion of your WhatPregnant account and the personal data associated with it at any time. This page explains what gets deleted, what may be retained for legal reasons, and how to submit a request.
1. How to Request Deletion
You can request account and data deletion through any of the following channels:
- From the app: open Profile → Settings and choose “Delete Account”.
- By email: write to support@whatpregnant.com from your registered email address with the subject “Account Deletion Request”.
2. What Gets Deleted
Once a deletion request is verified and processed, we remove:
- Your profile, account credentials, and contact details;
- Pregnancy-related information you provided (due date, gestational age, preferences);
- Saved hospitals, appointments, and membership records;
- Community posts, comments, and activity linked to your account.
3. What We May Retain
Certain records may be retained where required to comply with legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligations — for example, transaction and invoice records associated with payments.
Retained data is kept only for as long as the applicable law requires and is protected by the same security measures described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Processing Time
Verified deletion requests are completed within 30 days. We may contact you to confirm your identity before processing a request to protect your account against unauthorised deletion.
5. Effect of Deletion
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. After your account is deleted you will lose access to your membership, saved data, and history, and you will need to create a new account to use the platform again.
