Caught a bad cold and cough this week, runny nose the whole day. Im 5 months along and cant stop wondering if all this sneezing and the cold itself can harm the baby in any way. Anyone went through this?
A normal cold usually doesnt harm the baby, I caught a couple both times. Rest, fluids, steam and warm soups did most of the work. But dont take any cold medicine on your own, only what your gynac approves.
Simple cold is usually fine with rest and fluids. But high fever in pregnancy needs attention, so call your gynac if your temperature goes up. Dont ignore a persistent fever.
I stuck to home stuff, steam, warm haldi milk and lots of rest, and it passed fine. Just dont pop random tablets. If you get high fever or it drags on with breathlessness, see your doctor.
