Can a yeast infection in early pregnancy cause miscarriage?
Im around 7 weeks and dealing with a yeast infection, the itching is driving me mad. My mind keeps going to worst case and im worried it could harm the baby. planning to ask my gynac but wanted to hear if anyone went through this.
I had a yeast infection early on and immediately spiralled thinking the worst. My doc reassured me it wasnt going to harm the baby and gave me safe treatment. So please dont panic, just get it treated properly.
A common yeast infection is not usually linked to miscarriage, but please dont treat it yourself in pregnancy. I always tell people to see the gynac, who will give a safe treatment. Self medicating creams can be a problem early on.
Yeast infections are quite common in pregnancy due to hormones and arent typically a miscarriage cause. The important thing is to let your doctor prescribe a pregnancy-safe treatment. Dont grab an over the counter cream on your own.
