I have been on atenolol for my BP since before i got pregnant and now im 8 weeks. Getting really anxious if it is safe to continue or i should ask my doc to switch. Has anyone been on this during pregnancy?
Please don't decide this on your own. Some BP medicines are switched during pregnancy because they're not ideal for the baby. I had a BP issue and my doctor changed my medication, so honestly only your gynac can tell you what's safe for you.
Medicines me main koi guess nahi karungi, especially BP ki. Doctor often adjust these during pregnancy. Make a list of everything you take and confirm with your gynac at the next visit. Neither stop nor continue on your own.
This is really a question only your doctor can answer based on your health. BP medicines during pregnancy are often reviewed and sometimes changed. Please don't rely on community advice for prescription medicine, book a quick consult and ask directly.
Any regular medication needs to be reviewed once you're pregnant, I had to adjust my thyroid dose throughout with regular follow ups. For a BP medicine like this, please ask your doctor before continuing, they often modify these. Don't stop or take it on your own.
